Lviv Golden Ring. Olesko Castle in the Lviv region. The place where Polish King Jan III Sobieski spent many years of his life. The king became famous because he managed to stop the advance of the Ottoman Empire in Europe. The old castle, mentioned in written sources for the first time in 1327, has a lot to tell after almost seven centuries of existence. Pidhortsy is a residential castle located in the village of Pidhirtsi in Lviv Oblast western Ukraine. It was constructed by Guillaume Le Vasseur de Beauplan between 1635-1640 by order of Polish Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski, on the place of the older fortress. The castle was then part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and it is regarded as the most valuable of palace-garden complexes in the eastern borderlands of the former Commonwealth.The history of Zolochiv Castle dates back 350 years. France during the time of the musketeers and Cardinal Richelieu. Young Marie Casimire Louise de la Grange d’Arquien, daughter of the captain of the royal guard and of the King’s governess, journeyed east to a remote country. Magnificent Zhovkva The town center of Zhovkva was declared a heritage site in 1994, Zhovkva Castle, the town's oldest and largest building, is being converted into a culture and conference hall. City’s history started with the desire of Stanislav Zolkevsky to build an ideal city. The heart of the city was the Castle. Krehov is the oldest monastery located on the banks of the river. They say the founders were monks of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. These monks built cave monastery with cells and cure springs.
